Since 2018, I made a pact that whenever I was able to go on travels I would send myself a postcard everyday... big goal, but so far, so good!
I draw something from the day, preferably in situ but that's not always possible, and then write on the reverse the day's highlights.
There's nothing quite so exciting as receiving a postcard from yourself when you get home, or arriving home to a lovely pile of them.
Creating the postcard itself is not just about the drawing... when I'm doing the actual artwork it's a complete sensory experience and I'm totally tuned into my surroundings... smells, sounds, feels.
Each one takes me straight back to where it was made.
